L&#8217;espai esc\u00e8nic marca el m\u00f3n constru\u00eft per l&#8217;artista, els seus dominis simb\u00f2lics, on funcionen les lleis per ell inventades. Per\u00f2 aquests territoris i els seus l\u00edmits estan avui en q\u00fcestionament: murs cauen i murs s&#8217;aixequen gr\u00e0cies a la pol\u00edtica, i realitat i ficci\u00f3 comencen a desdibuixar-se dins del teatre. I qui no vulgui ser un foraster, un b\u00e0rbar, que alci la veu!<\/p>\n<p>Aquest plantejament de la situaci\u00f3 \u00e9s v\u00e0lid per a les obres de Hofesh Shechter que es presenten en aquesta temporada al Mercat de les Flors (i tamb\u00e9 per a la pol\u00edtica territorial que s&#8217;est\u00e0 duent a terme al nostre continent; la lluita entre b\u00e0rbars de corbata forma part del nostre present).<\/p>\n<p>A <em>Political Mother<\/em> (2010), el ressentiment \u00e9s total. \u00abI don&#8217;t forgive you\u00bb (no et perdono), \u00e9s la frase amb la que tanca la pe\u00e7a. La p\u00e0tria opressora, la mare que abandona, i l&#8217;ap\u00e0trida que no para de c\u00f3rrer, entre el terror i l&#8217;euf\u00f2ria, estan en aquesta obra -i en la vida- de Shechter. De pare israeli\u00e0 i mare alemanya, decideix marxar del seu pa\u00eds natal i establir-se a Londres, per\u00f2 els seus or\u00edgens, la seva formaci\u00f3 en danses folkl\u00f2riques i el seu pas per la Batsheva Dance Company, tenen una empremta que, lluny d&#8217;esborrar-se, s\u00f3n marca de la casa. Vam veure <em>Political Mother<\/em> fa quatre anys a la mateixa sala que torna, ara amb int\u00e8rprets locals: desenes de no professionals de Salt i Girona que encarnen les \u00e0nsies i els patiments del core\u00f2graf. Tractant-se d&#8217;una obra punyent sobre la condici\u00f3 de l&#8217;individu, el fet d&#8217;haver-la passat a gent del carrer, multiplicant els cossos en escena i refor\u00e7ant la idea de societat col\u00e8rica, crea un contrapunt redemptor. Podria servir aquesta f\u00faria esc\u00e8nica per calmar el malestar social?<\/p>\n<p>Al festival Grec 2014 s&#8217;hi presenta <em>Sun<\/em>, un recorregut per la hist\u00f2ria de la humanitat a partir de la usurpaci\u00f3 de territoris i llibertats, amb vidrets de colors a canvi de vides. Aquella mateixa setmana, Israel bombardeja Gaza en un atac contra civils de dif\u00edcil justificaci\u00f3. La hist\u00f2ria surt de l&#8217;escenari i es fa real. Shechter no en diu res. No cal.<\/p>\n<p>Seguint amb la celebraci\u00f3 del seu \u00e8xit, el 2015 Londres li dedica un festival en diferents teatres. <em>Political Mother<\/em> s&#8217;hi presenta en una de les sales de rock m\u00e9s importants de la ciutat, la O2 Academy, Brixton, on el soroll ensordidor de les guitarres el\u00e8ctriques i de la bateria desbocada que ell mateix ha tocat en ocasions, pren el protagonisme que sempre havia imaginat l&#8217;estrella en la que s&#8217;ha convertit, de rock o de dansa, tant \u00e9s. En l&#8217;espai oposat del territori cultural, el setembre feia la primera incursi\u00f3 en l&#8217;\u00f2pera amb <em>Orfeu i Eur\u00eddice,<\/em> de Gluck, presentada al Covent Garden londinenc.<\/p>\n<p>Malgrat el contrast entre la sala de rock i la casa de l&#8217;\u00f2pera, el fet \u00e9s que Shechter ha sabut encaixar la dansa, aquest art minoritari per excel\u00b7l\u00e8ncia, en espais de cultura de masses. Elements de festes rave, m\u00fasica rock, i situacions on la gent es deixa envoltar per les ones ac\u00fastiques perdent tota voluntat individual, s\u00f3n alguns dels sintagmes del seu llenguatge. Per aix\u00f2 li proposen de participar en la teles\u00e8rie brit\u00e0nica d&#8217;adolescents <em>Skins <\/em>l&#8217;any 2008, just quan estava creant la seva pr\u00f2pia companyia. La pres\u00e8ncia televisiva \u00e9s una mostra de la seva pregn\u00e0ncia i un impuls a la seva popularitat.<\/p>\n<p>I arriben els <em>Barbarians<\/em>, darrera pe\u00e7a de Shechter en la que continua la seves danses dionis\u00edaques de clavegueram, els moviments d&#8217;una societat submergida que ell il\u00b7lumina amb clarobscurs de ci\u00e8ncia ficci\u00f3 a l&#8217;estil de Stanley Kubrik, llums de colors difuminats de les macro-discoteques de desert o focus policials.<\/p>\n<p>B\u00e0rbars s\u00f3n els estrangers, els que no som nosaltres. I contra ells constru\u00efm murs alts i controls fronterers, perqu\u00e8 no ens encomanin la seva barb\u00e0rie, el seu salvatgisme, el seu no res. La por al desconegut desperta amb aquests estrangers sense domicili, i aix\u00ed es disparen els mecanismes de classificaci\u00f3 que funcionen a base d&#8217;estereotips i prejudicis. Per\u00f2 aqu\u00ed, Shechter utilitza els b\u00e0rbars per parlar-nos d&#8217;amor.<\/p>\n<p><em>Barbarians <\/em>\u00e9s una trilogia de tres petites peces, dues d&#8217;elles presentades de manera aut\u00f2noma uns mesos abans: <em>The barbarians in love<\/em> (els b\u00e0rbars enamorats; una situaci\u00f3 blanca i plena de formes marcials) i <em>tHE bAD<\/em> (el dolent o, llegint nom\u00e9s les maj\u00fascules, el cap; \u00e9s el cap\u00edtol daurat, de descontrol brillant). Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;aquestes dues coreografies abstractes, monocrom\u00e0tiques i majorit\u00e0riament r\u00edtmiques, arriba la melodia amb <em>Two Completely Different Angles of the Same Fucking Thing<\/em> (dos angles completament diferents de la mateixa fotuda cosa). Aquesta part \u00e9s un duo que amb el que ens pinta un paisatge relacional per parlar de la infidelitat. Mentrestant, una veu en off ens explica que tot plegat s\u00f3n els pensaments que ballen en la ment del core\u00f2graf.<\/p>\n<p>El material narratiu de les seves peces sempre ha tingut una base autobiogr\u00e0fica m\u00e9s o menys difosa, i en aquest cas tamb\u00e9. Per\u00f2 no \u00e9s m\u00e9s que un element del seu joc, una l\u00ednia fronterera que l&#8217;artista mou com li plau. Shechter \u00e9s conscient del poder de les imatges que crea, i se sap permeable a l&#8217;entorn, per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 internament creatiu i, per tant, el trasp\u00e0s entre realitat i ficci\u00f3 pot donar-se en molts moments i en diferents direccions: de la vida a la creaci\u00f3, del teatre a la vida de l&#8217;espectador, de l&#8217;emoci\u00f3 de l&#8217;espectador a l&#8217;entorn mediatitzat&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Aqu\u00ed la pell \u00e9s l&#8217;\u00fanic l\u00edmit i, encara que impermeable a la pluja, \u00e9s absolutament franquejable per les emocions. Shechter ens posa la pell de gallina, ens penetra pels ulls i ens aboca a l&#8217;abisme.
